When Anxiety Hurts

Not much is said about the pain someone can feel from suffering from anxiety. This word is already used by many to talk about their stress, but stress is not the same as anxiety. Anxiety goes beyond stress. Anxiety is what you feel when you perceive that you have no control over your future, your children or your finances. It is the intense emotion that you feel after you recognize that many things do not depend on you, and this causes a very intense feeling of lack of control, which turns into anxiety.

Anxiety hurts. It hurts to want to let go and feel like you can’t. It hurts to identify that even when you know that you want to change, that you want to improve and be at peace, your thoughts and emotions let you know again that peace is not possible or that what you need is to be in control. It also hurts to want to enjoy your present and not be able to, because your thoughts are very focused on what is to come. And if something happens to me? And if something goes wrong with my children? And if I fail? Countless questions overwhelm the person suffering from anxiety.

The good news is that help is available to you. Why continue to suffer and feel the pain of anxiety when you can open a door that leads to the inner peace you need? The therapists at New Hope Psychology Center encourage you to take a leap of confidence and decide to work on yourself through psychological therapy. We will offer you the tools you need to manage the pain you feel and heal from the anxiety that keeps you from being happy. You dare?
